Platelet Rich Plasma

Platelet- Rich Plasma (PRP) involves having blood drawn at your office visit followed by having the blood spun in a centrifuge until the platelets are highly concentrated.  The concentrated platelets are then injected back into the body into the desired treatment area.  The reason behind using  PRP to aid in the repair of injured tissue is linked to the critical role that the platelet plays in wound healing.

PRP may be used as a stand alone treatment or in combination with other modalities such as stem cell aspirate and injection. Your provider will discuss this at your visit.
